At Thinkwise Credit Union, we’re passionate about empowering the next generation with essential financial knowledge. That’s why we’re thrilled to bring Bite of Reality®, a fun, safe, and engaging financial literacy simulation, to our communities!

What Is Bite of Reality?
Bite of Reality is an interactive, app-based financial simulation that introduces teens to the ups and downs of real-world money management. Participants are assigned a fictional life scenario—complete with an occupation, salary, credit score, student loan debt, and even a family to support. They then navigate life’s financial challenges by making decisions at various “real-world” stations like housing, transportation, food, and clothing.

Teens will encounter:

• Pushy “salespeople” trying to upsell.

• Commission-driven “realtors.”

• Unexpected “windfalls” and “expenses” from the “Fickle Finger of Fate.”

And, of course, there’s a credit union to guide them toward smart financial decisions!

This hands-on experience teaches students how to balance their wants and needs while living on a budget. It’s a practical, memorable lesson in financial literacy that prepares them for the future.
